Our Association has existed for more than 30 years. We highlight several significant stages in its development:
The birth of interest in trading work, financial markets and organizations dates back to the time of the SFR Yugoslavia. During the former state, the Yugoslav Forex Club operated, founded on the initiative of the then NB Yugoslavia, Jugobanka and Ljubljana Bank, which in 1975. after accepting the statute, received the status of a full member of the international ACI society.
Among the members of the presidency is Duška Ilievska from Stopanska Banka Skopje. During that period, representatives from Stopanska Banka occasionally attended various trainings, most often in neighboring Serbia, in order to advance their knowledge and establish new contacts.
In the years after Macedonia’s independence, enthusiasts for the formation of such an association occasionally met in the “London” cafe to discuss ideas for further steps and plans. Dragoljub Arsovski is considered the most deserving of the legal amendments adopted in 1996. which created the conditions for the existence of an organization like ACI Macedonia. The founding assembly was held on 23.04.1996 in the premises of the NBRM, at which the Statute was adopted and the bodies of the Macedonian Forex Club, which was its original name, were elected.
The number of founders was 10, and the most deserving of the same can be mentioned as Dušanka Hristova (then vice-governor of the NBRM), Sinisa Velkovski from the NBRM, Dragan Dimitrov, Mite Lalevski, Zvonimir Soltirov. The enormous support from the NBRM was extremely important, both from an organizational and financial perspective, so the official premises of the association were located on the 5th floor of the NBRM building.
One of the key years for ACI Macedonia was 2001, in which, first of all, due to meeting the requirements for admission to the global association, amendments were made to the Statute and the name was changed from Macedonian Forex Club to ACI Macedonia – Financial Markets Association.
The Macedonian delegation, consisting of several members, is fully prepared to participate in the 42nd World Congress in Singapore, after which the association becomes an equal member (under its constitutional name) of the global ACI family.
An important period in the history of ACI Macedonia is 2004, when, with a change in the legal regulation, passing the ACI certificates (Dealing & Settlement) became mandatory for working in a position in a financial institution operating in these areas.
A great deal of credit for this process goes to Vancho Kargov, who was the then Vice Governor of the NBRM. Through all this, individuals, in addition to receiving a certificate, also gain specific knowledge in the field that they will apply in their companies, contribute to the development of the market, and directly increase the importance of ACI Macedonia for its progress.
ACI Macedonia has already held 30 annual meetings in its history, as well as many workshops with domestic and foreign lecturers, webinars and collaborations with other members of ACI FMA, especially ACI Adria.
Although a large number of various important domestic and foreign guests have paraded through the Assemblies over the years, the format has been maintained where part of the program includes decision-making, educational presentations and scientific discussions, as well as opportunities for social activities and better acquaintance between members of the association.

Presidents of the Association
Viktorija Mandichevska was elected as the first president of this professional club. Due to her commitments in London, the title and responsibility of president was taken over by Milena Perchinkova, who held this position for 10 years (1997-2008), during whose term the organization took great strides forward. The next to lead ACI Macedonia was Emil Jakimov (2008-2018). After that, the new president Bojan Cvetanovski further contributed for the development of the association with his ambitious plans. The current president of the Association is Vesna Trajkovska.
