The Association we belong to – ACI Financial Markets Association is the leading global financial association representing the interests of the professional financial markets community. Founded in 1955, ACI FMA is focused on improving market best practice and supporting market participants to adhere to the principles of ethical conduct.

The ACI FMA Model Code was recognised as the first industry code of conduct for OTC/FX and related markets, building on the original ACI FMA Codes of Conduct from the 1970s. Updated subsequently to embrace the wider OTC trading community – from dealing rooms to back office operations – the ACI FMA Model Code has strongly influenced many national codes of conduct and was superseded in 2017 by the publication of the FX Global Code, which ACI participated in, alongside various other Code of Conduct initiatives.

As a condition of membership, all ACI FMA members are required to adopt the principles of conduct and market practice contained in the FX Global Code and other Codes of Conduct applicable to the market. The ACI FMA will replace previous ACI codes (including the Model Code) with recommendations for Further Guidance and Recommended Best Practices in 2018.
